Swindon TV Video
This summer Lavinia's Tea Party were in the Vintage tent at Summer Breeze festival. Along with 'A Touch of Vintage' and 'She Unique Vintage', I was interviewed by Swindon TV! Heres the video!!
About Lavinia of Lavinia's Tea Party
I was named Lavinia after my sister's Victorian Pop-up Story book called Lavinia's Cottage, I did not decide to rename myself after watching Downton Abbey!
I began collecting vintage china whilst at university back in 2008, when I used to walk past a very good Welsh charity shop daily. After completely a degree in photography I moved back to Cirencester where I realised I should do something with my growing collection of vintage tea sets. I was asked to provide tea and cakes for a charity event held by my mother's business Beyond France Ltd. Using the vintage china fitted in so well with all the vintage linen and fabrics at the event, and I received so many compliments I decided to set up business! Lavinia's Tea Party seemed apt and since then
I have made cakes for several thousand and poured tea in the hundreds of thousands (it feels like millions!). I have hired china to a variety of events and exciting locations, including several manors, hotels, festivals, a museum and an military air field!
I am currently studying for my Masters degree part-time, so I can continue working. My favourite tea is: Vanilla by Fortnum & Mason. Favourite cake is: changing weekly!
When I'm not baking or washing china, I enjoy cycling, swimming, museums, galleries and exploring the Cotswolds! This is starting to sound like a dating advert so I will stop here!

Pretty Vintage China for every Occasion
Don't let the bad weather ruin your plans for summery garden parties, quaint teas and English frivolities this Great British summer!
So I've just had a cancellation, the wedding was to have a lovely afternoon tea using my pretty vintage china tea cups, after their wedding ceremony in a marquee. I was shocked to hear that they've scrapped the afternoon tea, as it was too summery for the low temperatures and rain fall expected for this weekend, which I thought was an utter shame. The English pride ourselves on carrying on regardless of the weather, I'm not sure what theme the wedding is having now, maybe mince pies and mulled wine with warm fur coats, probably more fitting with the recent storms. It maybe June and it maybe miserable, but there is nothing better than having a warming cup of tea and piece of cake on a slightly chilly day.

Guest in boating jacket and vintage tea pot to hire only £4 |
So for bride and grooms wanting a vintage country touch to their summer weddings, wondering what to do in this cooler weather... I say to hell with the weather, this is our summer and if we want it to at least feel like summer we need to don some thermals under our boating jackets and summer dresses.

If you were planning on serving Pimm's or old fashioned lemonade, you can serve winter Pimm's and warm apple juice for the children. Winter Pimm's uses Pimm's No 3, it has a brandy base to it, which you mix with warm apple juice, its delicious and warming, plus it can still be served from a tea pot and you don't have to faff around with all the fruit! Don't give in to the bad British summer, hire some pretty china from Lavinia's Tea Party to add that vintage touch to a splendid afternoon tea party!

Having a Vintage wedding or party?
Are you planning a vintage inspired wedding or garden party? Have you started collecting old china and then realised how expensive it's going to be buying it all?
Lavinia's Tea Party offer china hire for any event in and around the Cotswolds, you can loan as much or as little as you need. If you only need 10 tea cups and a sugar bowl for a baby shower, that no problem at all. I even will wash the crockery, so you don't have to and at no extra cost.
I can provide tea pots, milk jugs, sugar bowl, tiered cake stands, jelly moulds, tea plates, dinner plates, type writers, tea trolleys, all vintage, all gorgeous and all old! If I don't already have it I can usually find it!
So with the wedding season nearly over, I am taking bookings for 2012, I can deliver around Gloucestershire and Wiltshire, so it gives you more time to decorate for your vintage party.
Thinking of holding a drinks party? Recently I lent 150 tea cups for a Breakthrough Breast Cancer garden party with a twist, held at Laurence and Jackie Llewelyn-Bowen's house in the Cotswolds. Guests were served Gin and Tonics in the traditional tea cups and it went down a storm, such a simple idea, created many memories and fabulous photos.
Stephanie Cole (Stephanie Cole Design), Laurence LLewelyn-Bowen and Lavinia (Lavinia's Tea Party)
A fantastic evening was had by all exploring the beautiful gardens, which Jackie has been working on, and the party raised over £3,000!
To see more photos from the evening, 'like' Lavinia's Tea Party on Facebook. See my affordable vintage crockery hire prices here.
